Abstract

°£È£´Â ´ë»óÀÚ¿Í °£È£»çÀÇ »óÈ£ÀÛ¿ë¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ÀÌ·ç¾îÁö¸ç ´ë»óÀÚ¿¡°Ô Á¦°øµÇ´Â °£È£´Â °£È£»ç°¡ ¾î¶² °¡Ä¡±âÁØ¿¡ ±Ù°ÅÇÏ¿© °£È£½Ç¹«¸¦ ÇàÇϴ³Ŀ¡ µû¶ó ´Þ¶óÁø´Ù, ±×·¯¹Ç·Î °£È£»ç´Â ¹«¾ùº¸´Ùµµ Àΰ£»ý¸íÀ» Á¸ÁßÇÏ°í Àηù¾Ö¸¦ ½ÇõÇÏ°íÀÚ ÇÏ´Â ¹Ù¸¥ °¡Ä¡°üÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ¾î¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀÌ¸ç °£È£ÀÇ Áú Çâ»óÀ» À§ÇØ ³ôÀº À±¸®Àû °üÁ¡À» °¡Á®¾ß ÇÑ´Ù.
±Þº¯ÇÏ´Â Á¶Á÷ ȯ°æ¿¡ ÀûÀÀÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖÀ¸·Á¸é Àû±ØÀûÀÌ°í ´Éµ¿ÀûÀ¸·Î »óȲ¿¡ ´ëÀÀÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â ¿ª·®À» °¡Áø »ç¶÷µéÀ» ÇÊ¿ä·Î Çϴµ¥ ÀÓÆÄ¿ö¸ÕÆ®´Â ±×·¯ÇÑ ´É·ÂÀ» °®Ãßµµ·Ï Çϴµ¥ ±â¿©ÇÏ´Â °³³äÀ̶ó°í ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Ù(Á¤ÇØÁÖ, 1998). Jameton(1984)Àº °£È£»ç°¡ °£È£¸¦ Á¦°øÇÒ ¶§ °æÇèÇÏ´Â ¼¼ °¡Áö ÇüÅÂÀÇ À±¸®Àû °¥µîÀ¸·Î µµ´öÀû ºÒÈ®½Ç¼º(moral uncertainty), µµ´öÀû µô·¹¸¶(moral dilemma)¿Í µµ´öÀû °í¹Î(moral distress)ÀÌ ÀÖÀ¸¸ç ÀÌ °¡¿îµ¥ µµ´öÀû °í¹ÎÀ» ÇÏ°Ô µÇ´Â »óȲÀÌ °£È£»ç°¡ ¿Ã¹Ù¸¥ ÇൿÀ» Çϴµ¥ ÈûÀÌ ºÎÁ·Çϰųª ÀÇ»ç°áÁ¤±ÇÀÇ ºÎÁ·, °£È£»ç°¡ ÁöÄÑ¾ß ÇÏ´Â ±â°üÀÇ ±ÔÄ¢À̳ª ±ÇÀ§, ÀÇ»ç°áÁ¤¿¡¼­ °£È£»çÀÇ ¿ªÇÒ¿¡ ´ëÇÑ Á¸Áß°á¿© °°Àº Á¦¾à¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ±× ÇൿÀ» ÇÒ ¼ö ¾øÀ» ¶§¶ó°í ÇÏ¿´´Ù(ICN, 2002). ÀÌ·¯ÇÑ Ãø¸é¿¡¼­ º¼ ¶§, ŸÀÎÀÇ Á¸¾ö°ú °¡Ä¡¸¦ Á¸ÁßÇÏ´Â À±¸®Àû ÀÇ»ç°áÁ¤À» Çϴµ¥ ÀڽŰú ŸÀÎÀÇ °¡Ä¡¿¡ ´ëÇØ ¼­·Î ÀÎÁ¤ÇØÁÖ¸ç ÇùÁ¶ÇÏ°í ÁöÁöÇϴ ŵµ¸¦ °¡Áö°í ÀÚ¿øÀ̳ª ±âȸ, ÆÄ¿ö¸¦ ÀÌ¿ëÇÏ¿© »óÈ£ÀûÀÎ ÀÇ»ç°áÁ¤¿¡ ÀÇÇØ ¾÷¹«¸¦ ¼öÇàÇϵµ·Ï Çϸç, ´ëÀΰ£ÀÇ »óÈ£ÀûÀÌ¸ç ¿ªµ¿ÀûÀÎ °úÁ¤À¸·Î ÆÄ¿ö¸¦ ¼­·Î °øÀ¯ÇÏ´Â °Í(±¸¿ÁÈñ, 1998)À¸·Î Á¤ÀǵǴ ÀÓÆÄ¿ö¸ÕÆ®°¡ ÇÊ¿ä·Î µÈ´Ù ÇÏ°Ú´Ù.

Purpose: This study was to identify the degree of empowerment and ethical sensitivity of staff nurses and to examine the relationship between empowerment and ethical sensitivity.

Method: Data were collected from 235 staff nurses in 4 hospitals in Gyeonggi Province using a questionnaire and collected data was analyzed by the SPSS PC program.

Results: The degree of empowerment was 2.76( .35) out of a possible score of 4 and that of ethical sensitivity was 0.71( .11) out of a possible score of 1. The relationship of between empowerment and ethical sensitivity showed statistically significant positive correlation(r=.34, p=.00). For general characteristics, there was a significant difference in empowerment according to age(F=13.18, p=.00), educational background(t=-2.09, p=.04) and clinical practice career(F=15.15, p=.00) and in ethical sensitivity according to age(F=4.01, p=.02). In characteristics related to ethics, there was a significant difference in empowerment according to experience of ethics instruction in clinical practice(t=2.25, p=.03), attitude toward the nursing profession(F=7.96, p=.00) and ethical standards(F=9.39, p=.00) and in ethical sensitivity according to attitude toward the nursing profession(F=2.94, p=.03).

Conclusion: Findings suggest that a systemic and effective training program reflecting the above general and related ethics characteristics be developed to enhance empowerment and ethical sensitivity.
